Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Estimator, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for our projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.
- Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Conducting site visits and gathering all necessary data to produce accurate estimates.
- Reviewing design options and recommending best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, and availability of materials.
- Participating in proposal preparation and client presentations.
- Working closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project and ensure estimates are accurate and competitive.
- Maintaining current knowledge of market trends, costs, and other factors that may impact estimates.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
- Proven experience with single-family homes, townhomes, and historical renovations.
- A well-rounded skill set, including excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software, such as estimating, project management, and spreadsheet applications.
- A friendly, team-oriented attitude and the ability to enjoy a casual beer with colleagues after work.
