About the Job
Princeton University runs the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (CS) and Human Capital Management (HCM)Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications. The security architecture for these applications is complex, critical, and purpose-built. TheLead ERP Security Administrator is an expert in PeopleSoft security and is responsible for designing and administering security for these applications. This role is responsible for:
- Providing thought leadership on PeopleSoft security administration.
- Designing, configuring, testing, deploying,and maintaining access and security for users, responding to changes in business practices, and in support of upgrades and enhancements to the CS and HCM applications.
- Ensuring the ERP system complies with internal controls and external regulations.
- Coordinating/producing security responses to internal and external audits, the Information Security Office, and others.
- Ensuring that access controls and segregation of duties are maintained.
- Monitoring the security of the ERP system on a daily basis.
- Producing reports and analytics that inform IT management about the state of the ERP system's information risk.
- Communicating with CS and HCM functional users, technical developers, and management to ensure that system security design and modifications meet business requirements and needs.
- Preparing the organization to transition to a new SaaS ERP system in the next few years.
The Lead ERP Security Administrator reports to the Senior Director for ERP and also works at the direction of the Manager, Campus Solutions and the Senior Manager, HCM.
A remote work arrangement within the United States may be considered for candidates with the appropriate background and experience. University-paid business travel to Princeton, NJ may be requiredapproximately 2-4 times per year.
Responsibilities:Leadership
- Promotes security awareness and leads developers and functional users indesigning and implementing security conforming to leadingpractices.
- Mentors other security administrators, directs work, manages tasks, and sets priorities.
- Provides thought leadership and educates other members of the security administration teamon security approaches and implementing solutions.
Security Administration
- Learns the complex security architecture of Princeton University’s PeopleSoft CS and HCM applications.
- Designs, implements, and maintains flexible security solutions to support the ever-changing needs for the application security of PeopleSoft CS and HCM.
- Maintains clear and complete documentation about implemented security schemes and solutions.
- Administers security for PeopleSoft CS and HCM, audits employment changes, and monitorsother triggers for security assignments.
- Provides security and audit information as requested by the University Security Officer, Internal Auditors, annual external audit, and other appropriate parties.
- Implements and communicates leading practices for migrating security objects.
Research and Innovation
- Enables and drives the automation of security administration and audit, where possible.
- Keeps abreast of latest developments in PeopleSoft security as well as the Higher Education application and data security field in general.
- Is open to change and able to upskill as we transition to a futureSaaS replacement to PeopleSoft. Mastering the security architecture and administration for that future application is a key responsibility of this role.
Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years of experience with PeopleSoft Security Adminstration, with expertise in the (version 9.2) Campus Solutions and/or HCM applications.
- In-depth knowledge of PeopleSoft architecture, such as Components, Crefs, Workcentersand Activity Guides, Web Services, IB Messaging, BI Publisher, Row-level security, CS SACR security, HCM Trees (Dept & Custom) & SJTs, HCM TAM Groups, various related Wizards.
- In-depth knowledge of the architecture, available tools,and best practices for PeopleSoft security. A security administrator mindset with a ‘security first’ approach.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent written/oral/interpersonal communication skills, both with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong initiative and drive.
- Expertise in using SQL.
- Responsiveness to customer requests.
- Ability to multi-task between projects and applications and to manage multiple priorities, while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, as well as independently.
- Ability to adapt to change, keep abreast of technology trends, and learn new skills and technologies.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field.
