This position schedule is considered a Compressed Work Week - Back End Nights - Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday. 5:30 pm - 6:00 am
POSITION SUMMARY:
Equipment Maintenance Technician III is responsible for the maintenance of wafer fabrication assembly and facilities equipment for production lines. Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing downed equipment and assisting engineering staff in establishing and implementing periodic equipment maintenance. Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts. Rebuilds manufacturing equipment. Technician may participate in safety forums, Emergency Response Teams and station improvement teams.
- SKILL: Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
- JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
- SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
- EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the maintenance of wafer fabrication assembly and facilities equipment for production lines.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing downed equipment and assisting engineering staff in establishing and implementing periodic equipment maintenance.
- Responsible for scheduling and working with outside contractors for equipment maintenance covered by service contracts.
- Responsible for identifying PM’s to support stability of wafer fabrication assembly and facilities equipment for production lines with minimal assistance.
- Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform troubleshooting and repair wafer fabrication assembly and facilities equipment.
- Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as required.
- Provides training to other technicians and operators.
- Responsible for training of peers on process and operational improvement and equipment maintenance.
- Perform equipment modifications as directed by supervisors, managers and engineers.
- Technician responsible for training of peers on process and operational improvement and equipment maintenance.
- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel. Collects and evaluates operating and process data and recommends means to improve operational processes.
- Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative.
- Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
- Responsible for, and makes recommendations to, fulfill departmental quality, safety, quantity and teamwork requirements.
- May be required to ensure other technicians adhere to departmental quality, safety, quantity and teamwork requirements.
- Trained in proper handling of chemicals and hazardous waste.
QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:
- High school degree or equivalent and 2-4 years of related experience.
- Experience working with one or more of the following: high vacuum equipment, lithography tools, wet benches and/or measurement equipment.
- Ability to trouble shoot, diagnose and repair wafer fabrication assembly and facilitate equipment for product lines, with minimal assistance.
- Basic computer skills including the use of standard office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a diverse team, as well as individually.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be highly organized.
- Must be a self-starter and comfortable working in an ambiguous environment.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be a fast-learner.
- Must be able to be trained in proper handling of chemicals and hazardous waste.
DESIRED:
- Associate’s degree or higher.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
