Lead Electrical Engineer, Nuclear - LVI Associates

A leading global EPC is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Nuclear team, focusing on both operating Nuclear Power Plants and new nuclear power projects. The team has domestic and international experience providing services in consulting, design, analysis, and pre-construction planning for operating nuclear power plants, nuclear refurbishments, as well as new SMRs and advanced reactors.

Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:

• Perform or lead the electrical design process for projects, from initial concept through to design completion.
• Support business development activities by preparing level-of-effort estimates for proposals and creating capabilities and qualifications summaries.
• Act as the primary interface with clients, providing progress updates, resolving comments or open issues, and attending meetings or offering on-site technical support as needed.
• Oversee small project budgets and schedules related to technical deliverables.
• Review and modify production drawings for various project types, including power plants, process and industrial facilities, commercial properties, and governmental or military installations.
• Design electrical components to meet project-specific needs and requirements defined by project managers.
• Apply strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, practices, and commonly used industry standards.
• Research and compile project-related data as requested by project managers.
• Update and verify corrections to drawings provided by senior engineers using various CAD software tools.
• Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for projects across sectors such as power, process, pipeline, industrial, commercial, and governmental/military facilities.
• Conduct field inspections, take measurements, or perform calculations for both public and private clients.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Electrical Engineer Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering may substitute for one year of required experience.
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in consulting.
• Successful completion of the FE exam or EIT certification preferred; PE licensure is a plus.
• Strong understanding of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Experience with nuclear plant electrical power design, including standard design processes, plant modification packages, configuration management, and ASME NQA-1 (safety-related) requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work methodically and analytically in problem-solving environments with strong critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in standard engineering tools and techniques.
• Advanced computer skills, including experience with ETAP, PowerTools, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and 2D/3D rendering programs, as well as other analytical tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with strong facilitation, teamwork, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
