Peaceful Living is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our Residential Department. The primary function of the Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to provide support and supervision to the Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and ensuring health, safety and well-being of all the individuals within the home as well assist with oversight of daily operations of their assigned Community Home, ensuring regulatory compliance with 6400/6100 regulations.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSP) in all aspects of their job, assisting when necessary, in the total care of the individuals in assigned living area(s)/ community home. Write reviews and have ongoing, at minimum monthly, supervisions for all supervised Direct Support Professionals.
- Act as a Leadership Role Model for Direct Support Professionals (DSP) at the location they supervise, holding all Staff accountable and in accordance with the Peaceful Living model of belonging, encourages teamwork at every opportunity, resolves issues promptly and accordingly
- Represent Peaceful Living's Belonging Model by communicating in a compassionate and respectful manner with all family members and other stakeholders
- Oversee the daily operations of their assigned living area/ community home (including but not limited to: staffing conflicts, menu planning, grocery shopping, house meetings and resident care and support, where applicable)
- Responsible for staff scheduling, ensuring adequate staffing for the community home, maintaining the prescribed levels of supervision and adhering to budgetary restrictions. Responsible for monitoring staff punches in MITC and addressing missed punches for DSP's immediately, then reporting to the Team Lead.
- Supervise and monitor the implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISPs) of the individual served, ensuring the completion and accuracy of all required documentation, including but not limited to: program goals, behavior tracking, and incident reports and medication administration records (MAR's)
- Participate in the Interdisciplinary Team Process including team, ISP, Incident Review, Behavior Meetings, Emergency Team Meetings, Monthly Residential Management Meeting
- Ensure a safe, sanitary, and family-like environment in the community home by ensuring any physical plant concerns are quickly and correctly reported to Maintenance Department
- Oversee and assist in planning of recreational, vocational, and community inclusion activities, chaperones group sponsored trips/social functions
- Maintain the communication log and communicates with fellow Community Home Supervisors to ensure that all relevant information is shared to ensure the health and safety of each individual entrusted to our care as well as the ongoing daily operations of the living area/ home; email/report pertinent information to management
- Adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Incident Management Bulletin and Peaceful Living's Incident Management (IM) Policy to ensure the timely reporting of incidents, performs "look behinds" after an incident and takes immediate corrective action, when necessary in order to protect the health and safety of our individuals and prevent a reoccurrence
- Support the individuals in their spiritual life by coordinating their attendance at services other faith activities of their choice
- Participate in the Supervisor On-Call (SOC) rotation as assigned to ensure proper management oversight and ensure health and safety on all three shifts.
