Position Overview
The Lead Drainage Engineer will be responsible for overseeing drainage design projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations, and leading a team of engineers in developing efficient drainage solutions for various transportation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of drainage systems for transportation projects.
- Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis to assess drainage conditions.
- Prepare detailed design documents and specifications for drainage systems.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of drainage designs into overall project plans.
- Review and approve drainage design submissions from junior engineers and consultants.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding drainage and environmental impact.
- Conduct site assessments and field investigations to gather data for drainage projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in drainage engineering or related disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of drainage design principles and hydraulic modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Microstation, and Geopak.
- Experience with DOT and FDOT standards is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus.
- Familiarity with transportation projects and related drainage requirements.
