Job Description:

MEI has a job opportunity for a highly skilled and detail-oriented CAD Drafter to join our team. As a CAD Drafter, you will play a crucial role in translating conceptual MEP designs into detailed construction documents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting and modeling using AutoCAD software, with a passion for precision and accuracy.

Job Duties:

• Lead the drafting team in creating accurate and detailed Electrical drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring adherence to industry standards and company guidelines.
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AutoCAD within the drafting team, providing technical expertise, troubleshooting support, and best practice guidance to enhance team proficiency and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to develop comprehensive construction documents
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior drafters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, including Mechanical, Architectural, and Civil, to ensure design integration and accuracy.
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project managers and clients, maintaining the highest standards of quality and precision.
• Stay updated on industry advancements, including software updates and BIM (Building Information Modeling) best practices.
• Ensure project timelines and deliverables are met by managing drafting schedules and resource allocation effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience drafting within the MEP industry, with 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
• Expert proficiency in AutoCAD software; experience with REVIT and BIM is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, particularly in MEP disciplines, with additional knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Architectural design elements.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring and guiding drafting teams.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex drafting projects within established timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of BIM concepts and hands-on experience with BIM processes.
• Certification in AutoCAD, REVIT, or other drafting software.
