Lead Dining Server - Cedarhurst of Woodland Hills

Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Lead Server at our Woodland Hills community.

As a Lead Server you will have to opportunity to connect with, and positively impact the lives of, our residents daily! You will provide a top-notch dining experience for our residents and their families. You will be responsible for helping prepare food, serve, and assist residents that need help eating their meals. Additionally, you’ll assist with all catering services, room service, special party needs and marketing functions. You will work alongside the Dining Services Director to ensure the best dining experience for our residents and create a pleasant and sanitary dining area.

As a Lead Server, working with the Dining Services Director, you will impact the lives of our residents by –

• Supports all catering, room service, special party needs, marketing functions, etc.
• At the direction of the Dining Services Director will be instructed to create dining room schedule, and ensuring there is enough wait staff for shifts.
• Required to ensure that all dining room staff fully understand the daily specials, desserts, and daily soups
• Required to: clear, sanitize and set tables, remove garbage from the kitchen and clean trash containers, thoroughly review and complete daily checklist of duties for maintaining and cleaning kitchen and dining areas.
• Required to assist in cleaning work areas, dining room floor, dining room tables, and dining room chairs after each meal and occasionally after special events, sweep, vacuum, and mop floor at the end of shift.
• Assist in controlling food costs, when possible
• Responsible for training server staff in, the standard operating procedures of
• Cedarhurst Senior Living including but not limited to: Sanitation and safety protocols and processes, educating new staff on the menu, the process on how to describe meals to the residents, and proper set up, service table grooming, and dining room recovery during all meal periods.
• Complete daily checklist of duties for kitchen and dining room, following all cleaning schedules, and ensuring, as well as
• Participate in all required cleaning duties as scheduled. Must be able to provide direction on side work assignments to the serving staff, and ensure extra guests are prepared for.
• Required to assist in cleaning work areas, dining room floor, dining room tables, and dining room chairs after each meal and occasionally after special events, sweep, vacuum, and mop floor at the end of shift.
• Must be able to provide direction on side work assignments to the serving staff, and ensure extra guests are prepared for along with support serving staff with questions and provide assistance as needed
• Must remain flexible and have the ability to work weekends when necessary.

To become a Lead Server, you will need –

• High School diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years of previous experience
• Basic knowledge of all Federal, State, and facility regulations regarding sanitation and infection control.
• Respect for the principles of resident rights and confidentiality.
• Must possess a general knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding senior living care, as well as a solid understanding of opportunities and limits of other levels of care within senior living.
• Sense of professional curiosity, desire to learn new things, and to find / recommend solutions to problems.
• Must exhibit and promote a high level of customer service, hospitality, curiosity and friendliness towards all residents, visitors, employees, and the overall community
• Must have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, to be flexible, to work well with many interruptions and have multi-tasking skills
