Harmonic is excited to be working with one of the world’s fastest growing D2C Ecommerce businesses. Focused on targeting the human microbiome, this business is making an enormous impact in their customers lives by addressing the microbiome’s natural imbalances which have been found to be the root cause of many of the physical and mental hardships that people experience today.
Venture backed by a number of the most prominent VC’s in the space, and achieving operational profitability from their fleet of clinically proven supplements, this company has been growing 2-3X year over year. Off the back of their recent success and their continued expansion, my client is looking to build out a world class Data team.
The Role:
Reporting into the VP of Data and Analytics, we are currently seeking an accomplished Data Scientist who will spearhead a growing Data team. Responsible for transforming data into insights and supporting tactical and strategic decision making – this is a pivotal role that will have visibility across the entire organization.
As a member of a rapid growth start up, the right candidate will embrace the fast-paced nature of things and won’t be afraid to wear multiple different hats. Due to the needs of the business, the responsibilities of this role will skew heavily on the analytics side of things until the department is more established. When a more built out analytics team is in place, this role will be relied upon to be a creative thinker and builder.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret commercial data to uncover trends and patterns, providing actionable insights.
- Establish key performance indicators for customer acquisition and retention by utilizing customer cohort data to assess metrics such as lifetime value (LTV), customer acquisition cost (CAC), and retention rates across various sales channels.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to align business goals, create data frameworks, and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Present data insights to stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.
- Oversee optimization initiatives through A/B testing to enhance customer acquisition and retention strategies.
- Focus on data-driven initiatives that create value, particularly those that improve customer analysis and key performance metrics to support commercial growth.
- Develop a deep understanding of business fundamentals to effectively anticipate trends and proactively provide data-driven support.
What We Need (Skills & Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science (PhD preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management or analytics, ideally within consumer-focused industries.
- Demonstrated business insight in a subscription-based consumer business with a track record of using data to drive growth.
- Deep understanding of D2C e-commerce metrics including CAC, LTV, AOV, Retention, Marketing ROI
- Expertise in data analysis tools, including SQL and Python, as well as data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI.
- Proficiency with web analytics tools such as Heap and Google Analytics.
- Experience in statistical and advanced analytical methods, including predictive modeling.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where adaptability is crucial.
- Must have the right to work in the United States (unfortunately the client will not offer visa sponsorship)
Start Date: ASAP
Package: $180,000-$250,000 + bonus + share options
