Lead Controls Engineer
Overview:
The Lead Controls Engineer plays a pivotal role in our organization, overseeing the design, development, and implementation of control systems for our various projects. This key position is responsible for leading a team of controls engineers, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the successful execution of control system projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of controls engineers to execute projects effectively and efficiently.
Design, develop, and implement control system solutions, including PLC programming and HMI development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems with other project components.
Oversee the testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of control systems to ensure optimal performance.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior controls engineers to foster their professional development.
Conduct thorough risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance control system design and implementation processes.
Communicate project updates and progress reports to key stakeholders and project teams.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a controls engineering environment.
Strong expertise in control system design, development, and implementation.
Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial communication protocols.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards, such as NEC, UL, and CE, as they relate to control systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to lead a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on quality and reliability of control system solutions.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
