Lead Construction Inspector - Atlas

Atlas Seattle branch is looking for a Lead Construction Inspector who is a technically proficient, detail oriented, diligent, self-starter. Our team has earned an outstanding reputation for providing QA and Special inspection services to the top contractors working in the Pacific Northwest.

You will be part of a well-established and respected team of professionals providing quality assurance, testing, and special inspection services to a variety of high-profile projects in Western Washington. You will work on projects of medium to long duration as assigned, and be involved in the successful completion of bridges, roadways, fish passages, and other local infrastructure facilities.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Review Quality Testing Reports
• Coordinate with Owner and Client Staff on project needs
• Verify Certs for Lab and Technicians
• Observe testing of field related materials
• Review Quality Control Plans
• Monitor Field Testing throughout the project
• Primary point of contact for QA Techs
• Lead QA Meetings

Minimum requirements:

• 5 years of construction inspection experience on civil, residential, commercial, or transit projects.
• Ability to navigate uneven surfaces, occasionally lift 30 pounds, and climb stairs and ladders. •
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in mobile computing technology (Outlook, Bluebeam, Excel).
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Technical requirements:

• Certifications especially needed in the following categories: post-installed anchors, structural masonry, shotcrete, cold-formed steel framing, and spray-applied fire resistive materials.
• WAQTC and ACI Certification for in-place density and concrete field testing.
• Possess one or more WABO/ICC Special Inspector Certifications.
• Ability to interpret contract plans and specifications.

Other miscellaneous qualities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in mobile computing technology (Outlook, Bluebeam, Excel, Word)
• Ability to travel for Western Washington per diem projects.
• Professional Engineer; an Engineer-In-Training; or a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction, or related degree
• The ability to perform and check engineering calculations.

Compensation:

$34 - $52 hourly

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
