Lead Cloud Platform Engineer - Metric5

Metric5 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to lead modernization efforts within an enterprise Federal AWS environment.

This role involves leading a team of engineers across multiple projects, architecting modern cloud application environments, and orchestrating deployment and monitoring platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, and federal compliance standards.

Required skills/Level of Experience:
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing multiple projects.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes and related technologies (EKS a plus) including blue/green environments, rolling deployments, configuration maps, secrets, reverse-proxy/LB configurations, horizontal pod scaling, etc.
• Experience architecting, implementing, and maintaining complex CI/CD pipelines in an enterprise DevSecOps environment.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise application/infrastructure monitoring using Elastic, AWS CloudWatch/CloudTrail, or similar.
• Experience developing and operationalizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar in large enterprise environments.
• Experience with horizontal on demand scaling of servers and storage and load balancing.
• Proficient in architecting and deploying AI solutions on cloud environments (AWS GovCloud).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices.
• Possession or ability to obtain and maintain the required a favorably adjudicated DHS Public Trust background investigation.

Preferred Skills/Level of Experience:
• Certification in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or Kubernetes.
• Experience with Elastic stack, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS and FME ETL tools.
• Familiarity with SAFe® Agile frameworks.
• Proficiency in Visio for creating system diagrams.
• Experience containerizing legacy applications.
