About the Job
Responsibilities:
- Functions as a resource for Medical Assistants (MA) in their principal duties and responsibilities.
- Provides training and support to MA staff for the EHR and scheduling programs.
- Provides resource support for MA interactions with physicians and payer interactions.
- Provides support to MA staff by playing a key role in implementing and executing core initiatives.
- Plays a supporting role in training and orienting new staff.
- Provides input in creation of front office processes and protocols.
- Supports practice management in institution of white page policies.
- Works directly with practice management with scheduling templates.
- Participates in revenue cycle by ensuring authorizations and referrals are in place and notifying the Billing Associate of needs for further authorizations.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Company policy.
- Communicates effectively and courteously and demonstrates a caring attitude toward patients and their families.
- Acts in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner recognizing an individual’s religious, ethical, and moral opinion/belief. Treats all patients and their families with dignity and respect.
- Presents a positive, professional appearance and conveys a professional demeanor in the performance of assigned duties.
- Responsible for following all facility, organization and department precautions and procedures in the performance of all job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others.
- Completes compliance requirements as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Education Level: Diploma from an accredited program for Medical Assistants required. MA Certification required.
Experience Years: Minimum of five years’ experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience Industry: Healthcare
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Maintain CPR certification.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
