What we are looking for:
We are seeking a Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be friendly, have excellent communication skills, and possess exceptional organizational abilities.
You will be responsible for managing every aspect of the project on-site, including carpentry work, scheduling, budget management, and jobsite safety. This role requires direct client communication and ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed. The Lead Carpenter runs their own projects from start to finish, ensuring high-quality work and maintaining customer satisfaction while adhering to the terms of the construction contract.
A few must haves:
- 8+ years of experience in residential remodeling
- 3+ years of experience in leading a crew
- Extensive rough and finish carpentry skills including cut-ins, and superior knowledge of construction methods and techniques
- Proficient in using construction management software, including Buildertrend
- Knowledge of related building trades
- Reliable work vehicle
- Ability to lift up to100 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks
- Valid driver’s license and insurance with a clean driving record
What you will do:
- Perform carpentry work to the highest standards
- Supervise and manage carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors, ensuring quality and on-time work
- Keep the project on schedule and within budget
- Ensure jobsite safety, protect company tools, inspect equipment, and enforce safety rules
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing project updates, answering questions, and addressing concerns
- Read and understand plans, specifications, and other documents. Address any questions or issues with the Production Manager
- Manage change orders and ensure they are documented and signed before starting work
- Understand project scope and discuss any additional work with the Production Manager
- Attend pre-construction meetings, inspections, and final walkthroughs
- Report delays, discipline issues, and project status to the Production Manager
- Order materials and coordinate schedules with subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery and start dates
- Oversee end-of-day procedures, including cleanup and securing the site
- Complete timecards daily and submit weekly for payroll
- Maintain discipline on the jobsite, ensuring proper behavior and attire
- Attend weekly progress meetings and complete other duties as needed
- Be available for a full-time schedule: Mon-Fri: 8:30am-4:30pm
