Currently seeking an experienced Lead Building Automation Technician to join a growing Systems Integration firm in the Miami market. In this role, you will lead and supervise the BAS field team in commissioning, diagnosing, and troubleshooting HVAC/DDC control systems. Mentor and guide junior technicians to ensure successful and high-quality building automation services and help commission, diagnose, and repair HVAC / DDC control systems in new and existing environments.
Control Products include: Niagara, Distech and Johnson Controls FX Facility Explorer systems.

Currently seeking an experienced Lead Building Automation Technician to join a growing Systems Integration firm in the Miami market. In this role, you will lead and supervise the BAS field team in commissioning, diagnosing, and troubleshooting HVAC/DDC control systems. Mentor and guide junior technicians to ensure successful and high-quality building automation services and help commission, diagnose, and repair HVAC / DDC control systems in new and existing environments.
Control Products include: Niagara, Distech and Johnson Controls FX Facility Explorer systems.
Responsibilities:
- Programming and/or troubleshooting various brands of HVAC controls products
- Program and load system-level controller software. Performs commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e. sensors, actuators, etc) and completes all required commissioning documentation
- Create and update front-end graphical user interfaces (GUI)
- Integration with 3rd party networks / software / systems
- Successfully build trust / relationship as liaison / first point of contact with client
- Earn positive feedback from supervisors, co-workers, and clients for customer service & attitude
- Work safely to eliminate personal accidents and damage to other property / systems
- High proficiency in electrical and HVAC theory
- Develop KPI’s or tracking metrics for job performance
MUST HAVE:
- 3+ years of building automation (BAS/BMS) or commercial HVAC controls experience
- Experience with BAS communication protocols; BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, N2, P1, Modbus, LON, Tridium Ax/N4 etc.
- Willingness to be in the field locally at client sites
- Possess an aptitude for electrical wiring and reading and interpreting wiring diagrams.
- High level knowledge of IT networks
NICE TO HAVE:
- Niagara, Distech and Johnson Controls FX Facility Explorer systems experience
- One-year technical certificate in HVAC or equivalent from an accredited institution or 2 years of experience in an HVAC related field, preferred.
