Lead Bookkeeper

We are in search of a talented individual to fill the role of Lead Bookkeeper. This full-time position provides an opportunity to contribute to our growth while developing your skills and contributing to the team environment. The successful candidate will also play a crucial role in supporting bookkeeping functions for our sister companies.
As a bookkeeper within our accounting department, you will be an integral team member in processing and managing intermediate bookkeeping tasks to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly accounting cycle. Responsibilities
- Prepare and finalize monthly draws for approval, ensuring accuracy and resolving variances.
- Obtain customer draw authorizations from sales staff and prepare documents for submission to title companies.
- Function as primary contact for information requests regarding draw requirements and status.
- Record journal entries for financing activities, project draws, and closings.
- Review and resolve aging accounts payable and receivable balances.
- Credit card management: coding review, statement reconciliation, and balance monitoring.
- Receipt and deposit project funds utilizing multiple financial accounts and deposit methods.
- Create, assign, and maintain COA and cost, item, and class codes.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to include fixed assets.
- Manage insurance policies and assist with audit preparation.
- Manage business license and state reporting renewals.
- Tax preparation, financial reporting, and communication with accounting firm. Special projects as assigned.
- Prepare monthly financial binder for the management team.
- Provide support and assist with accounting resolutions for design, estimating and production teams.
- Process and manage bookkeeping activity for condo associations. Function as primary contact.
- Actively participate in team meetings, process improvements and company initiatives.
- Assist management with system and software improvements, integration, and implementation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- A minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience or an accounting degree plus 1 year of relevant experience.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to adapt quickly.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional reasoning and initiative-taking analytical person with negotiation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and QuickBooks.
- Experience with construction project management software.
- Demonstrated ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm with 95% accuracy.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move up to 30 pounds.
