You are an amazing Shift lead. You lead by example!
Being a shift lead is more than just being an amazing barista, now you have been upgraded to lead your coworkers. This is a huge step and requires great skills. Leadership, humility, empathy, sympathy, and love for what you do. I hope you enjoy this journey and learn as much as you can on how to be a good leader. Please look at the requirements and roles for shift lead:
- Speed of the baristas on the floor (speed on our service is what makes us different from the competition so we must provide a fast service)
- Amazing customer service, being friendly at the window and on headset.
- Upselling – use the cheat sheet provided. The lead should set the example on the team leading that we must upsell. This is strategically important to achieve the sales goals of our store.
- Scooterversity courses – the shift lead position is ahead of the barista position, so its important that you have completed all the courses assigned. Not only to be on top of your knowledge but to make sure if a barista asks you something you already know and can teach them.
- Chores and tasks of the shift – everyone on shift must complete all tasks. The shift lead has the authority to assign those tasks if the baristas are not taking the lead on doing them.
- As a shift you also have the authority to send a team member home if you see that we are not busy and we are overstaffed.
- As a shift lead you are required to maintain a positive and friendly environment, remember that you are others example, and we all want to have a fun a friendly environment at work.
- Communication with Manager must be 100% honest and on time, anything related to the store, issues should be communicated immediately.
- Anticipating issues that will create hazard to the service we provide, should be immediately communicated to the Manager. An example is if you see we are running out of any of the products we provide, an issue with one of the machines, a process that is not working, etc.
Must be 18 or older, have open availability, and reliable transportation.
Starting pay: $16 plus tips.
