Job Description Summary
Under direct supervision, assists with designing new products and processes and improving and maintaining existing products. May conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable. Communicates with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and no prior experience.
Job Description
- Lead Airframe Design Engineer is responsible for Planning and scheduling, and leads others to produce technical work with required acceptance criteria. Also manages the weekly/Monthly status calls with Bell Technical lead engineer.
- Ensures application of best practices and identifies the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools.
- Responsible for reviewing the quality of deliverables and conducting peer reviews.
- Provide design engineering support for detail part revisions (metallic and nonmetallic) and associated engineering releases.
- Responsible for airframe parts and assemblies belonging to the air vehicle while working under the supervision of a technical lead engineer.
- The position has responsibilities for compliance to the airframe design manual, best practices, customer specifications, military standards, Company procedures, and program directives.
- Analyzing the data and identifying critical changes, create revisions to detail parts and assemblies.
- Update detail, assembly, and installation CAD models and engineering for the airframe.
- Coordinate with other engineering, manufacturing or specialty personnel to resolve problems and execute revision routing.
- Development of product changes and improvements, timely response to requests from procurement, manufacturing, tooling etc., for preparation of engineering change requests and change orders and engineering drawing maintenance.
- Maturing the design concepts.
- Create revisions to detail parts and assemblies. Additionally, the designer may be asked to mature design concepts in support of a revision or new part release when a revision is not the appropriate avenue for change.

- Assist in researching technical data and developing solutions for the project or assignment
- Coordinate with other engineering, manufacturing or specialty personnel to resolve

- preparation of engineering change requests and change orders, and engineering drawing maintenance.
- Applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide
- technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
Position Requirements:
- 10+ years aerospace structural design experience is required
- Proficient in 3DX CAD and PLM processes is required; prior experience with CATIA V5/V6
- and Enovia is preferred
- Must have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate design
- activities, prioritize tasks, and report status to design leads
- Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and
- external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams to complete
- design tasks
- PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
- Previous experience in Aircraft Design is required
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required
