Family Central has an opening for a full time Nurturing Parenting Coach to join a team that is dedicated to investing in families and ensuring their success. The Nurturing Parenting Coach provides the NPP curriculum to families during regular home and/or group sessions following the NPP model with fidelity and cultural sensitivity. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Leading role in conducting sessions/classes in the designated parent education curriculum. Provides home-based parenting classes for parents with children ages 0-11. Coordinates curriculum between Nurturing Coach and Child Facilitator, if conducting group class (5-11).
- Preparing curriculum materials prior to session to ensure understanding of the session. Preparing area to provide a conducive learning environment.
- Linking clients with other resources that are most suitable in meeting their needs.
- Documenting all client contact and maintaining accurate records for contract compliance and outcome measures.
- Preparing court reports, status letters, or other reports to referring agencies as requested.
- Administering pre- and post- inventories, questionnaires, and surveys to assess client progress and satisfaction.
- Submitting attendance sheets and other weekly documentation. Accountable for ensuring files meet program standards.
- Providing information to program manager for completion of monthly, quarterly and/or year-end reports, as requested.
- Participating in workshops, conferences and training to promote the enhancement of professional skills.
- Recruiting families in the community in order to maintain a full caseload. Serve as a customer service role model to ensure a positive relationship in interactions with all employees.
- Performing other duties that may be necessary to comply with contract requirements and maintain the success of the organization.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field. Minimum two (2) years of experience in providing direct service to children and families. Knowledge of family life, child development, and parenting skills. Six (6) months experience in parent education. A master's degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
- Bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish is required in order to meet the needs of our families located in South Broward.
- Must be detail oriented, possess excellent organization and time management skills; must possess the ability to work under stress; manage multiple projects oftentimes with the same deadline. Must be able to work flexible hours, evening hours and Saturday availability preferred.
- Must have transportation and be willing to visit clients in their homes. Valid Florida Driver's License with full access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage (proof of insurance is required).
- Able to perform in an empowered environment by working collaboratively with other professionals, personnel and direct service provide. Must be familiar and comfortable working with diverse populations/environments. Previous home visiting experience is a plus!
