Job Details:
Our company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Permanent Layout Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting our engineering operations and program managers by creating, updating, and modifying layouts as per project requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in machinist, engineering technician, and inspector roles, who is looking for a challenging and rewarding career in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Measure first off parts for products that are to be launched in the future ( 1-2 years down the road)
2. Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
3. Work with quality control inspections to ensure layouts meet design standards and specifications.
4. Perform dimensional analysis and prepare detailed reports.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve layout issues in a timely and efficient manner.
6. Provide technical guidance to junior staff and other team members.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, developments, and changes in regulations.
8. Keep accurate records of all layout work and revisions.
9. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest improvements to processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a machinist, engineering technician, or inspector in automotive industry.
2. Experience with GD&T ( Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
3. Experience with at least one or more of the following: calipers, micrometers, comparators, indicators, CMM ( PCSMIS), indicators, hardness tester, and
smartscope ( OGP)
4. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex layout issues.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
8. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
9. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
