RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble detail components
- Pre-fit the details to ensure conformity to customer
- Lay-up assemblies in accordance with the mylars provided. May use cutting tools, heat guns and measuring equipment
- Place mylar (blueprint) over the entire part to ensure correct placement
- Visually inspect each piece. Call a Quality Inspector to inspect each detail
- Complete all required information on the traveler form
- Deliver parts to the table to be prepared for the
- Work as part of a team to "bag" down the table. Process includes securing the parts with a bag and putting vacuum tubes in place using bag seal tape.
- Inspection will verify the bag adequately passes leak check
- Clean tables, floors, and hand tools on a daily basis
- Lay-Up Technicians shall be certified after 90 days of hire
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or zero to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
- Composite (Fiberglass) lamination experience or boat, aviation, automotive, seamstress exp.
- Ability to use cutting tools and measuring devices
- ERP/Invoice software exp.
- Ability to read blueprints, mylars, customer-supplied data
- Airframe certification preferred but not required
Communication Skills:
Must speak, read and write English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills:
- Basic computer skills are required
- Logging in / out of jobs using MRP

- White Tyvek coats

- Safety glasses (outside of lay-up room)
- Hair/Beard net | Latex/Nitrile gloves

- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud at times
- Clean room kept at 63 degrees. (No eating or drinking allowed in controlled environment. Employees must not use any hand lotions, creams, waxes or compounds containing any material detrimental to adhesion).
- May work at different workstations as production needs

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus depending on the situation.
- The employee may be required to successfully pass the HCOA Respirator Qualification program as an essential job duty due to exposure to particulates and fumes. Technicians are required to stand for a full shift while wearing full PPE in a heated environment. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Correctable vision to 20/20 with full depth perception. Ability to pass DOT Drug Testing requirements (49 CFR Part 40).
Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm. Monday through Friday. Onsite only.
PAY: $20-22 an hour dependent upon experience
Background and Drug test required.
