General Statement:
Under the direction of the Supervisor/Manager or designee, functions as a member of a team providing professional services in accordance with the needs of the Intake department in assisting individuals in navigating the behavioral and physical
health systems in the Genesee Health System (GHS) Provider Network as well as the larger community. May be assigned
to assist in a similar role in other GHS departments as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Social Work and Michigan Bachelor’s Level Social Worker (LBSW) credential. Will consider a candidate with a Limited
License as a Bachelors Level (LLBSW) credential AND one (1) year of experience in Mental Health, OR a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in human service field (defined as Counseling/Guidance or Psychology), who also must possess Bachelor Level Social Worker (LBSW) credential AND one (1) year experience in Mental Health. The employee with a LLBSW must take and pass the ASWB Examination within four (4) years of hire to retain employment. The employee with a LLBSW must also make application for the LBSW upon completion of 4000 hours in order to retain employment. OR Bachelor’s in Nursing and license as a
registered nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan AND one (1) year experience in Mental Health.
Additional Requirements:
Designation as a Certified Application Counselor and successful completion of MI Bridges navigation training to be completed within three months of hire.
Preferences:
Certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
Experience working in a PIHP Access Center
Veterans must submit Form DD214 to determine eligibility for Veterans’ Preference
