About the Job
This is a permanent substitute position that will be responsible for providing administrative support to prosecutors within the Palmer District Attorney’s Office
This position will be substituting for a permanent employee while they are on extended leave, which is expected to be for approximately six (6) months. This position receives all benefits, including retirement (PERS). In the event the permanent employee returns to work, and after 6 months, you will be placed in layoff status with full layoff rights to the Law Office Assistant 1/2 job class
What You Will Be Doing
You will be performing a wide variety of tasks to include but not limited to typing and formatting legal documents, performing data entry, organizing documents in electronic files, and communicating with outside agencies and individuals verbally and in writing to accomplish tasks

The general office hours are 8:00AM to 4:30PM but there is flexibility in establishing your regular hours around core business hours.

Who We Are Looking For
To be successful in this position, you will need the following core competencies:
- Well-developed written communication skills with the ability to edit and proofread documents for grammar, composition, punctuation, and spelling.
- Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and to maintain cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of people and the ability to accept supervision and direct instructions.
- Ability to work calmly and productively under frequent deadline pressure and changing priorities in a distracting, fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to stay focused on numerous details and to maintain a high level of accuracy
