Location Description:
Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is nestled high atop the majestic San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 5,174. This Resort is surrounded by an ocean of Ponderosa Pines and gives guests exclusive access to Lake Arrowhead, a reservoir with a surface area of 780 acres. Lake Arrowhead is the perfect location for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and offers a variety of summertime and wintertime activities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ziplining, and more. The resort includes a Bar & Restaurant, Spa & Wellness Center, Outdoor Pool & Lake Beach as well as over 23,000 sq. ft of meeting and events space.
Overview:
Basic Function
This Heart of the House role is responsible for providing key services to our guest that include but is not limited to preparing and maintaining linens in all aspects of the laundry department.
Essential Functions
Work as a team to accomplish the goal of resort/hotel cleanliness.
Laundry duties as required (i.e., washing drying/ironing and folding of all guest rooms linen/towels as well as restaurant/catering linens

Reporting any problems or malfunctions of the laundry equipment to a supervisor/manager.
Assisting housekeeping personnel with their job assignments, as necessary.
Keep laundry area/ common areas of the property clean and organized.
To understand the proper utilization of equipment and chemicals, and the knowledge of appropriate safety procedures
Turning off equipment prior to leaving at the end of each shift (if the last shift of the day).
Making sure the gas is turned off and that the rollers on the ironer are in an upper position at the end of each shift (if the last shift of the day).
Adhere to the policies of the Hotel as set forth in the Associate Guide and report any observed violations to Human Resources.
Assist housepersons and room attendants, as necessary.
Help maintain a safe work environment.
Always respond in a friendly, helpful manner to other team members.
Maintain the highest level of employee/guest relations.
Qualifications:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Thorough knowledge of the use of laundry chemicals and different formulas, as well as effects on various types of linens
Ability to prioritize and organize work
Ability to listen effectively, speak, read and write English clearly to ascertain and document important information.
Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift.
Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property.
Ability to follow written and or verbal instructions in English.
Sufficient manual dexterity in hands.
Education: Laundry experience or equivalent. High school diploma preferred.
Experience: Ability to operate a commercial washer, ironer, dryers, along with other potential laundry equipment.
Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (Dress code and grooming will be provided by the department manager).
Other: Ability to transport, handle and/or lift upward of 75 lbs. (i.e., housekeeping supplies and laundry).
Compensation Range:
The compensation for this position is $16.00/Hr. - $17.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
