About the Job
Position functions as the programmer/operator of a Laser Tracker Machine and its software to develop and perform dimensional inspections for in-house manufactured products to determine conformity. The ideal candidate is proficient in using the laser tracker and its software.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
- Interpret technical documents and develop a dimensional inspection plan
- Perform dimensional inspection on aircraft structures to determine locations of assembled components
- Perform First Article Inspections as required per AS9100 and FAA Part 21.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and design engineers regarding inspection results
- Complete the required documentation.
- Maintain measuring equipment and replace component hardware as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment, and comply with safety requirements.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and Engineering drawings
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5
- At least 2 years of experience performing measurements using applicable equipment
- Experienced with laser tracker usage and associated software, plus standard hand measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gage blocks
- Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and/or web-based software.
- Basic and/or Advanced training or knowledge of measurement software.
- Attention to detail.
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:
- Two or four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Two or more years of experience in Quality Control in Aerospace
- Certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ)
- Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma
- Working knowledge of CAD software including Catia, or Onshape.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as AS9100
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and Aerospace conformity requirements
- Experienced interfacing with Business Enterprise Systems such as Plex.
- Experience with Inspection software such as Polyworks, or equivalent reporting software
- Experience working with a manufacturing team to develop new processes.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment using OSHA-required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ability to stand for extended periods and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
