WHAT WE NEED:
Laser Scanning/Surveying Specialist
The Laser Scanning Specialist will play a critical role in executing and managing laser scanning projects, ensuring the capture of high-precision data for a variety of applications. This individual will work closely with the project management and engineering teams to plan, perform, and process 3D laser scanning data to support the design, analysis, and decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct laser scanning surveys on construction sites, industrial plants, and other environments.
- Possesses basic knowledge and ability to operate a total station (Leica).
- Setup, operate, and maintain laser scanning and total station equipment.
- General knowledge of setting up jobs using scan target locations and survey control.
- Ensure data collection follows the highest standards for accuracy and quality.
- Post-process point cloud data using software such as AVEVA(LFM), Autodesk ReCap, or Z+F Laser Control.
- Interpret and analyze scan data to identify potential issues or discrepancies in project designs.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand data needs and requirements for each project.
- Maintain and organize scanning project files, logs, and documentation.
- Keep up to date with new laser scanning technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Travel to project sites as needed (local and out of town).
WHO WE NEED:
- Proven experience working with 3D laser scanning equipment and total station.
- Strong understanding of point cloud data processing, modeling, and visualization.
- Familiarity with workflows and software (ReCap, Navisworks and Z&F Laser control) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet travel requirements.
