Summary:
You have a strong semiconductor device physics background combined with hands-on experience with optical lab equipment including laser drivers, optical metrology (spectrometers, oscilloscopes, and free space optics).
Responsibilities:
• Focus on design validation of VCSELs, photodiodes, and related semiconductor devices for laser sensing applications.
• Establish laser device test bench in the optical lab and device characterization to validate the design.
• Failure mode analysis, root-cause diagnosis, and problem solving.
• Analyze data to draw conclusions, enhance product design/manufacturability.
Requirements:
• Strong device-physics background, with a solid understanding of semiconductor physics, device process in semiconductors, and driver-level analog EE.
• Hands-on experience with laser device characterization, including laser LIV, SMSR, polarization, far-field beam profile, etc.
• Hands-on experience with optical lab equipment including laser drivers, optical metrology (spectrometers, oscilloscopes, and free space optics).
• Hands-on experience in a typical programming language (MATLAB, python, etc) for data collection and analysis.
• Knowledge and experience in III-V laser devices, such as VCSELs, edge-emitting lasers or LEDs is a plus.
