This position is integral to the development of accurate financial estimates and ensuring the successful completion of projects through oversight and coordination across all project aspects. The role is responsible for managing budgets, cost estimation, and maintaining effective communication between teams and clients.

Functional Roles and Responsibilities - Estimating
Cost Estimation
Assess project scope to determine materials, labor, and equipment requirements. Analyze and estimate project costs including materials, labor, and overhead.Documentation
Prepare and review contracts, ensuring alignment with negotiated terms. Generate and manage purchase orders, keeping accurate records of transactions, contracts, and suppliers. Collaborate with the bidding team for cost documentation in competitive bids.Collaboration
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and constraints. Communicate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure efficient procurement processes.Market Research
Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and new products to support informed procurement decisions. Assess potential suppliers for reliability and capabilities.Cost Monitoring
Track actual costs against estimates throughout the project lifecycle, analyzing variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Project Planning
Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Develop detailed plans outlining tasks, milestones, resources, and schedules.Resource Management
Allocate and manage personnel, budget, materials, and equipment, ensuring efficient resource utilization to meet project goals. Proactively manage material acquisition and delivery to project locations.Team Leadership
Lead and manage multiple teams across various locations. Assign tasks, set expectations, and foster collaboration among team members.Communication
Serve as the primary contact for clients and internal teams, ensuring clear communication on project status, changes, and issues. Handle change orders promptly to avoid project delays.Risk Management
Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, including contingency planning and proactive problem-solving.Budget Management
Oversee project budgets, tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and ensuring financial compliance. Review actual vs. bid hours and propose strategies for updated bidding approaches.Timeline Management
Monitor project progress to ensure milestones and deadlines are met. Adjust schedules and resources as necessary to maintain project timelines.Quality Control
Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, involving setting benchmarks, conducting reviews, and overseeing testing.Project Closure
Ensure the completion of all project objectives, deliverables, and conduct a post-project review with clients and the team. Facilitate the smooth transition to maintenance teams.
Client Relations
- Represent the company professionally at all times, responding promptly to client needs and concerns.
- Ensure client satisfaction through regular follow-ups, addressing issues, and involving the appropriate team members when necessary.
- Keep the Construction Manager informed about client communication and concerns.
Communication
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients and team members.
- Maintain thorough documentation of work progress, including before-and-after photos.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and keep them updated on project developments.
- Keep the Executive Team informed about client concerns and site communication.
Safety
- Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols at all job sites.
- Reinforce safety practices with crew members and address any violations.
- Inspect job sites for unsafe conditions, mitigating any potential risks.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of landscape construction practices, tools, and materials.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage with homeowners, property managers, and staff.
- Ability to assign, supervise, and guide team members effectively.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills for efficient project execution.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, kneeling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Visual acuity to operate equipment, inspect work, and ensure accuracy.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and physical work tasks.
Education and Experience
- 3-5 years of related experience in landscape construction.
- Knowledge of industry laws, codes, and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to foster positive working relationships.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Special Requirements
- Possess a valid Class C driver’s license and be eligible to drive under company insurance.
