Landscaping Fleet Mechanic & Fabricator - SS Landscaping Services

SS Landscaping is looking to add a new Fleet Mechanic to their team. This person will be accountable for repairing vehicles, large construction equipment and small lawn care equipment and their ongoing maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have previous automotive experience working with a variety of engines, be a reliable employee, exhibit teamwork, and add value to our organization.  

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance – Tasks include oil changes, tire rotations, transmission flushes, air conditioner re-charges, front end alignments, inspections, battery installations, and headlight/taillight installations. 
• Conduct diagnostic procedures – Includes extensive diagnostic inventory to determine the sources of vehicle/equipment problems and provide accurate repairs. 
• Manage vehicle/equipment logs – Maintain accurate documentation of issues and completed repairs for all vehicles and equipment.
• Fabrication - Repair and replace vehicle/equipment components as needed i.e. (truck/trailer decking, dump-bed rails/doors etc, iron bucket repair, etc.)
• Maintain cleanliness - Ensure the work environment is clean and safe to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety. 

Proficiency Requirements:

●  Various engine models i.e. (GM, John Deere/Yanmar, Case, Honda, Echo, etc.)

● Ancillary components i.e. (brakes, pumps, fuel systems, suspension, electrical, etc.)

● Metal fabrication i.e. (mig/tig welding, plasma cutting, arc welding)

● Diagnostic software and tools

● Basic carpentry

Other Requirements:

● High School Diploma or GED

● WADL

●  An ASE certification from a trade or technical school in automotive or engineering is desirable for this position. 

●  3 years of service technician experience

●  Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment a must

●  Willingness to participate in in-house training

●  Ability to operate all auto repair tools

●  Excellent listening and communication and interpersonal skills
