Position: Landscape (Construction) Install Project Manager
Objective: The Landscape Project Manager is a key role that is responsible for the efficient and effective management, scheduling, and execution of current and future landscaping projects. The role demands clear and concise communication, as well as thorough documentation, both within the internal team and with external customers and vendors. This individual will work closely with the Irrigation, Landscape, and Nursery managers to ensure the successful coordination of each department’s scope of work.
Responsibilities:
1. Operations
- Organize and conduct pre-construction meetings and weekly status meetings for active projects.
- Coordinate with Irrigation, Landscape, and Nursery departments on active and upcoming install projects.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with all members involved in the project(s) on items such as scheduling, required resources, and potential issues to be aware of.
- Coordinate scope changes both internally and externally with customers and vendors, as needed.
- Ensure the team is following the schedule to meet deadlines. Monitor and update the project schedule, as needed.
- Create and achieve benchmarks for the successful execution and completion of projects.
- Effectively identify required resources on each project, including, but not limited to, plant material, site furnishings, and subcontractors.
- Risk management – identify and proactively respond to potential issues throughout the life of the project to minimize potential negative impacts.
- Ensure each department is properly documenting and communicating potential issues.
- Coordinate with the Landscaping department the plant needs and timing. Ensures PO’s correspond to contracted quantities.
- Source and engage subcontractors, as needed.
- Maintain and build positive working relationships with general contractors and subcontractors.
2. Financial
- Manage the project budget.
- Diligently track job progress to facilitate complete and timely billing.
- Identify/generate/capture all signed CO’s, SWO’s, back charges, PO’s and subcontracts
Qualifications & Specific Skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in landscaping or construction project management.
- High school diploma. College degree in a related field is a plus.
- Very strong organizational and planning skills; ability to manage changing priorities and workflow.
- A dedication to learning and improving company standards, procedures, and goals.
- Exercises good judgment and is accountable.
- Willingness to work long hours, including overtime and weekends, and assist with other projects, as required.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Committed to continual skill enhancement for top level industry performance.
- Cost-conscious and effective at cost control.
- Good judgment as related to all job functions; eye for detail, strong work ethic, punctual, ethical.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Possess a valid and clean Florida driver’s license.
- Possess pertinent physical requirements commensurate with the job.
