Landfill Gas Operations Specialist - Waste Connections

Waste Connections is looking to hire a Regional Landfill Gas Operations Specialist to assist with the management of landfill gas collections and control systems (GCCS) for 10 landfills across 5 states. This is an excellent opportunity with Waste Connections!
Responsibilities will include the following:
+ Support the GCCS operations, capital budget planning and dispersal, and regulatory compliance across the Region.
+ Provide guidance, recommendations, and direction regarding GCCS design, construction, and operational issues.
+ Interface with landfill gas (LFG) energy developers to optimize their production and operations.
+ Coordinate LFG energy plant administrators, managers, and supervisors regarding associated GCCS operations.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
+ Ability to follow established procedures with minimal amount of direct supervision.
+ Capability to interpret documents such as safety rules, contracts, federal, state and local regulations, engineering design and operating plans, maintenance and procedural manuals.
+ Excellent technical report writing skills.
+ Aptitude to define problems, collect data, interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
+ Experience to predict and manage future needs and adapt to changing regulatory environments.
+ Skill to build and maintain strong relationships with operations team, outside consultants and vendors, and customers.
Minimum requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or related field.
+ 10 or more years of practical environmental experience.
+ The ability to travel up to 50 percent of the time.
