We are seeking an experienced and motivated Land Surveyor to join our dynamic engineering team. This role will involve working on a variety of projects, from commercial to educational, and will require a strong understanding of land surveying principles and practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed surveys, creating accurate reports, and collaborating with a team of skilled engineers. This opportunity offers a chance to contribute to the success of significant projects, while also developing professional skills in a supportive and innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct detailed land surveys using a variety of specialized equipment including Trimble, GPS, and robotic total stations.
2. Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
3. Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center (TBC) to draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects.
4. Conduct ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys in accordance with American Land Title Association and National Society of Professional Surveyors guidelines.
5. Collaborate with civil engineers and architects on projects to ensure that all specifications and regulations are met.
6. Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget.
7. Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
8. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and practices in land surveying and civil engineering.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelors Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, preferably within commercial projects
3. Must hold a valid Land Surveyor’s license in the state of MO and/or IL.
4. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center (TBC), and other relevant software.
5. Familiarity with ALTA Surveys and a solid understanding of civil engineering principles.
6. Exceptional technical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
7. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
8. Proficient understanding of Trimble GPS and robotic total stations.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
10. A commitment to maintaining high safety standards and a clean work environment.
11. Ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
12. Proven track record of managing projects and ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
