Laminator Operator
Duration: 11+ months with high possibility of extension or FTE
Location: Elk Grove Village Illinois 60007
Work Hours: 5:45am to 6:15pm Work Schedule 2/2/3 (TEMP TO HIRE)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Laminator Operator I and/or II on following SOP's.
- Help Laminator Operator 1 & II process materials according to work instructions.
- Mix adhesive according to formulas.
- Check first piece conformance to specifications.
- Set up and operate Lathe Machine according Lathe Machine Operating Procedures when needed.
- Job order interpretation
- Maintain cleanliness of machines/equipment and adjacent work area to SQF standard.
- Utilize satellite containers for Hazardous Waste.
- "Hazard Waste Generator generates hazardous waste as part of the production process.
- (Reference SOP-HW-201-09, and SOP-HW 202-09) on file.
- Report quality issues to Laminator Operator I and/or manager, supervisor, group leader for analysis and/or remedy.
- Report ALL accidents to the shift manager immediately.
- Report ALL unsafe acts and conditions to the shift manager immediately.
- Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are essential to the job.
- Verification of Correct calculation of needed amount of adhesive for job
- Verification of what impression rollers are needed for four hours and cut/or resurface to specifications.
- Report all Food Safety violations to management. Assist the Lam Operator with adding adhesive, changing raw material rolls and other substrates. Operate machine for break coverage.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Participate in Sonoco's Performance System (SPS) activities as required 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, Near Misses, etc.
- Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are required and expected for job performance.

- Mechanical Aptitude,
- Data Input,
- Knowledge of Tape Measure & Ruler /Metric-Standard
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent job experience

- Daily housekeeping procedures.
Physical, Mental and Visual Demands:
- Moderate to heavy physical effort performing duties/work activities; lift up to 60 lbs.
- Personal Protective Equipment required.
- Continuous Mental/Visual attention required.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required
