POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lamination Operator ensures the proper, efficient, and safe operation of the lamination machine. The Lamination Operator will document and communicate to the department Manager all production data.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Work safely, completing daily safety audits, preventing accidents and increasing the safety environment of the work area
Work in a self-directed/Team environment
Understand and troubleshoot all incoming material/processes/equipment
Focus on Housekeeping of your work area. Responsible for a clean and organized handoff from shift to shift
Understand and operate material conveyance machinery
Identify quality aspects of products and process used to meet customer needs
Align foam with composite or vinyl panel and understand assembly process
Work cooperatively with supervisor, lead, and co-workers
Understand adhesive process and assist with handling glue drums
Assist/perform and understand profile changeovers and line set ups
Rotates between all positions on the lamination line including sorting, inspecting, assembling, and packaging of product.
Able to perform proper startup/shutdown procedures for line
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
High School Diploma or equivalent desirable.
Must be Safety conscious oriented
Must be able to comprehend and communicate basic math skills (including fractions).
Must be able to lift, push, pull, boxes 50 pounds or greater
Must be capable and willing to work overtime on short notice
Must be willing to work in hot, fast paced work environment
Must be able to work standing on feet 8 or more hours a day
Must be able read, write, and comprehend work instruction
Must be able to use small hand tools (Calipers, tape Measures, hand saws, etc.)
Must be able to do product quality checks and identify bad product
Must be capable of working with Standard Work processes
Must be able to rotate between all stations on lamination line. (foam feeder, assembler, vinyl loader, vinyl stager, inspection, box loading/making, packaging, and palletizing)
Must be able to learn and utilize problem solving skills for troubleshooting.
Must be able to foster a good team atmosphere.
Able to travel--short term (for training)
Computer skills (data entry)
Work Environment:
The atmosphere is that of a manufacturing plant. The position will primarily work where moving machinery produces noise. Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment that is issued for that location. Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat. Physical demands may include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, forward bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, postural balancing, manipulating, trunk rotation, handling, gripping, and talking (hearing).

Additional Information:
This role's schedule is third (3rd) shift. The typical workweek is Monday-Friday 9:45pm to 6:15am, with occasional Saturdays as needed for overtime.
