Objectives of this Role:
- The Applied Power Division strives to have functional, well-maintained, and presentable lab spaces, work spaces, breakrooms, conference rooms and restrooms.
- The role of the Laborer in the Applied Power Division is fast paced and requires the ability to multi-task.
- Duties include operating industrial cleaning equipment, maintaining facilities, cleaning facilities, escorting duties, safe chemical handling, and general laborer tasking.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners & power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming carpet, steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
- Occasional stripping, sealing, and polish of floors.
- Independently clean offices, laboratories, lobbies, breakrooms, conference rooms, dust furniture, and fixtures.
- Gather and empty trash receptacles.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms with soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Notify manager concerning the need for major or minor repairs.
- Ability to work at a steady, diligent pace to complete assigned duties within allotted timeframe and quality standards.
- Additional equipment operation, escorting duties, and other duties to be assigned as needed.
Requirements:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years: General laborer or janitorial experience
- Self-Motivated individual with strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift and carry objects up to 30 lbs. without assistance. Must have the ability to walk or stand for the duration of the work shift.
- Existing security clearance is preferred but not required; must be able to obtain a security clearance.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
