Laboratory Technician
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Pay: $17.00/hour

Job Description
The Laboratory Technician plays a critical role in supporting the operations and functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for:
- Receiving and processing materials, supplies, and samples.
- Performing laboratory maintenance, including calibration of standard equipment.
- Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining laboratory spaces.
- Preparing samples for analysis and assisting chemists and microbiologists with various tasks essential to laboratory operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and process samples and laboratory materials/supplies.
- Prepare samples for various testing applications.
- Collect environmental monitoring and water samples.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, APIs, and chemicals.
- Perform general laboratory duties, including washing labware, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing supplies and workstations.
- Document work accurately and maintain detailed laboratory records in notebooks and controlled documentation following good documentation practices (GDP).
- Perform daily laboratory tasks, such as:
- Monitoring incubator and refrigerator temperatures.
- Checking humidity levels.
- Calibrating/verifying balances, pipettes, and pH meters.
- Clean and record eyewash station maintenance in logbooks.
- Transport and dispose of laboratory trash, waste, and hazardous materials.
- Assist in sample preparation for advanced analytical techniques, including HPLC and UPLC.
- Perform filter integrity testing.
- Train in testing methods such as Dissolution, TLC, UV-Vis, Sub-visible Particulate, FTIR, Water Activity, pH, and Container Closure Integrity Testing.
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), standard test procedures (STPs), and work instructions as assigned.
- Communicate results effectively with laboratory management and collaborate closely with the quality assurance department.

Requirements
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- College degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Entry-level position, but higher-level technicians should possess a combination of education and relevant experience.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work involves standing for extended periods, walking, bending, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent use of laboratory equipment, including pipettes, balances, and pH meters.
- Exposure to chemicals, laboratory reagents, and hazardous waste.
- Adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
