Seeking to hire a Laboratory Technician. Responsibilities include evaluating manufactured steel tubing properties and supporting the manufacturing and engineering processes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Provide system process and product verification through a wide variety of activities.
- Monitors sample orders and obtain relevant technical information to verify samples are fit for purpose.
- Perform inspection, measuring and test activities, as described in the Standard Operating Manuals, for various purposes for Product Development.
- Operate the following machines: wet saw, band saw, hot mount, sample grinder/polisher.
- Perform hardness, tensile, and fatigue testing.
- Provide Technical assistance on inspection and testing for Production and Service personnel where suitably trained and certified.
- Perform simple service, repair or calibration of process monitoring inspection equipment.
- Perform analytical tasks related to inspection, measuring, test and process control data from Production, Service, Product Development, and Quality.
- Initiate, receive, process and file or forward various documents including product work orders, records of inspection, measuring and test activities, and nonconforming material reports. Data entry of Quality Documentation into the required database.
- Comply with all applicable HSE (safety) requirements.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
***EDUCATION: MUST HAVE MINIMUM HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED***
WORK HOURS: 40 hrs/week, Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm.
Some overtime is possible depending on workload. Overtime consists of Saturday mornings 7am-Noon.
MANAGER'S MOST IMPORTANT EXPERIENCE & SKILL SET BELOW: (ENSURE THIS IS CLEARLY DETAILED IN THE RESUME)
Ability to carry heavy items, 50 lbs.
Quality and/or NDE Testing Inspection knowledge.
Ability to learn laboratory equipment usage such as wet saw and polisher.
Some experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Basic computer skills and understanding of computer programs.
INTERVIEWS WILL BE CONDUCTED IN PERSON
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Moderate to advanced computer skills, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Technical degree in engineering, manufacturing, NDT or welding, a plus.
- Knowledge of industrial standards such as API, ASTM, ASME, etc.

Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $20.00-22.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
Please Note:
Must have a valid driver s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.
