Laboratory Supervisor
Our client, a global biomedical company focused on innovative breakthroughs in healthcare through the collection, processing, storage, and distribution of donor materials, is currently seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to join their team. This person will be responsible for leading laboratory management activities and oversight of technical operations for a new central lab.
Responsibilities:

Oversees a wide range of laboratory management activities including specimen processing, vendor management, lab safety, quality management, and equipment installation

Hires, trains, and manages laboratory personnel

Processing of samples for cryopreservation and release

Validates, initiates, and optimizes processing of cord blood stem cells

Ensures laboratory operations are in compliance with internal SOPs and relevant regulatory requirements

Develops and implements procedures to improve workflows and processes and advance lab capabilities as needed

Procurement, qualification, validation, troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory equipment as needed
- Helps obtain and remain in compliance with relevant laboratory licenses, certifications, and regulatory approvals in accordance with the appropriate deadlines as needed
- Implements effective lab capacity planning as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience managing laboratory personnel
- Experience processing umbilical cord blood and/or umbilical cord tissue for clinical practice
- Experience processing stem cells for for clinical practice
- Experience overseeing technical laboratory operations under the supervision of or in collaboration with a Medical Director strongly preferred
- Current certification as Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or similar preferred
- Ability to ensure quality control management and to set up corresponding processes preferred
- Experience ensuring the validation of laboratories, processes, procedures, and equipment preferred
- Experience communicating with regulatory and licensing offices and official certification authorities preferred
- Experience with laboratory inspections, audits, proficiency testing, etc. preferred
