Laboratory Area Manager - Worthington Industries

This position is responsible for managing all Laboratory testing activities assuring regulatory code requirement are met (DOT, ASME, ISO etc.). In addition to supervising laboratory inspectors to ensure that all work is completed on time and per the priority set by the Quality Manager. This position will also support other Quality Engineering staff on projects and continuous improvements opportunities throughout the facility,

• Manage, evaluate, train and mentor Laboratory Inspectors to become proficient in routine testing including regulatory, process and external product.
• Maintain lab quality assurance program, lab equipment and procedures
• Manage workflow of laboratory, including prioritization of testing and providing visibility to key lab metrics
• Develop and execute continuous improvements projects within the Quality department
• Ensure and maintain regulatory compliance, including producing routine regulatory and customer testing certifications
• Conduct laboratory testing when required
• Ensure 5S is fully implemented in laboratory
• Other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree BA/BS in an Engineering or Technical degree

Management/direct supervisory experience

Thorough understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and data analytics software

Knowledge and auditing experience with ISO9001 and DOT requirements highly preferred
