Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse – Labor & Delivery Job Specialty: RN Registered / Licensed - Inpatient Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Less than 1 year; completion of accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours preferred License: Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Must-Have: - Ability to read, write, and speak English - Basic computer skills - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills - Excellent customer service and time management skills - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment - Strong critical thinking and analytical skills Job Description: - Perform the Nursing Process including assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation. - Provide relationship-based patient-centered care, ensuring service delivery that reflects an understanding of cultural diversity. - Partner with patients and significant others using approved methods for communication, such as bedside shift reports and interdisciplinary rounds. - Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care while promoting a respectful clinical environment. - Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration in a fiscally responsible manner, promoting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members. - Participate in performance improvement activities, research utilization, and support shared governance within the system. - Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other nurses and staff, ensuring a qualified nursing workforce and a healthy work environment. - Promote evidence-based practice and nursing research, participating in data collection and consultation to address practice questions. - Plan for patient care across the continuum, developing protocols and procedures in collaboration with the healthcare team to achieve best practice outcomes. - Support efficient use of human and material resources. Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all organizational policies, standards of work, and codes of conduct.
