The Labor Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Human Resources and Payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and assisting with various employee-related matters. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, payroll experience, and the ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing & Record Keeping:
- Calculate employee pay and distribute checks, maintaining accurate payroll and HR records.
- Record new hires, transfers, terminations, job classification changes, and merit increases.
- Ensure timely entry of new or modified pay rates, updates to payroll files, and processing of timecards with supervisor sign-off.
Employee Support & Orientation:
- Conduct new employee orientations, providing information packets, reviewing policies, and explaining payroll, benefits, and withholding options.
- Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries, including wage statements and individual payroll issues, ensuring accurate information and prompt resolution.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain up-to-date human resources and payroll records to comply with employment and labor laws.
- Complete forms, reports, logs, and records for HR actions and ensure regulatory compliance in all processes.
Benefits Administration:
- Manage and maintain benefits information and records, ensuring accurate and accessible employee files.
- Support benefit plan management, including new enrollments and changes.
General Support & Special Projects:
- Collaborate with other departments, assist with various HR tasks, and contribute to special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1 years in HR, payroll, or related field, with a strong focus on payroll processes.
Skills & Abilities:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Strong knowledge of employment and labor laws, as well as experience in regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
