Job Summary:
The Labeling Design Specialist will assist the Operations organization in the production of product labels and product related literature. Assist engineering, marketing, and operations with new product introductions and/or product changes. Support labeling equipment needs such as maintenance and troubleshooting.
Job Model: Hybrid
All fully remote positions will require you to travel on site 2-4 times per month depending upon business needs at your own expense.
Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.
On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Work with engineering, marketing, and production managers to refine label and literature designs.
- Collaborate with other graphic designers, developers, and compliance to ensure requirements and regulations are met relative to raw material composition.
- Responsible for updating electronic art files for installation instructions, data sheets, and product labels across the campus.
- Responsible for processing/completing Printed Material Change Notifications within Chesterton system.
- Coordinate language translation of production labels and literature as necessary, which includes communication with external translation service vendors and submission of purchase requests for translation services
- Propose innovative solutions for product label design consolidation.
- Manage label printing equipment upgrade project.
- Understand and implement Chesterton branding requirements; examples include design details such as font size, font type, colors, etc.
- Support labeling process improvements with engineering and operations team.
- Work with labeling software to design, modify and print labels as needed.
- Understand and have the ability to operate labeling equipment.
- Coordinate repairs and troubleshoot labeling equipment functional issues.
- Print labels as required to support business needs when needed.
- Effectively communicate with both our internal IT Team and vendors’ technical support teams as needed to ensure proper functionality of labeling equipment.
- Follow development timelines to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Complete paperwork by following standard operating procedures.
- Conduct training for employees as necessary in an effort to have multiple people that are able to carry out label printing functions.
- This position may also perform other duties related to the successful operation of the Company as requested by the Production and/or Process Engineering Manager.
Complexity of Duties:
- Reports to Process Engineering Manager but works with minimal supervision, while decisions are made based on pre-established policies and procedures, as well as professional experience and judgment.
- Uses professional judgment to determine when a higher level of authority is necessary.

- Knowledge of a Mac environment and Creative Suite with a focus on Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop (required), and Microsoft products (Outlook/Word/PP/Teams).
- Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to track and report on task status on a weekly basis.
- Ability to accurately proofread and spell.
- Reading, writing and comprehension skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and/or Experience:
- 1+ years in manufacturing environment a plus.
- Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects or challenges.
Other Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, co- workers and managers.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist

Targeted pay range: $52,000/yr. - $57,000/yr.Chesterton is committed to paying all its employees in a fair and equitable manner. The pay range associated with this position ($52,000/yr. - $57,000/yr. DOE) is Chesterton's good-faith salary estimate for the presently available position. Please note that the final salary offered for any position will be based on many factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications such as education and experience, internal equity, geographical location, and budget.
