Cyclyx International, LLC, is leading the development of a comprehensive set of innovations focused on addressing the world's plastic waste problem with the ultimate goal of increasing the recyclability of waste plastics from 10% to 90%. Cyclyx has developed the ability to assess waste plastics by their chemical properties vs object identification and then using its algorithms to make custom blended feedstock for various mechanical and chemical recyclers specifications providing new recycling options that have not traditionally existed.

Position Summary
The Lab Technician will work full-time in our Portsmouth NH laboratory, preparing samples for quantitative and qualitative analytical testing of post-consumer plastics in accordance with written procedures in a fast-paced environment. The Technician will also assist other Lab Analysts with various analytical testing tasks.
Role Responsibilities
Provide Lab Technician support to the Portsmouth, NH laboratory, including but not limited to:
- Preparing samples for analysis by various means, including hand sorting, milling, shredding, drying, and weighing.
- Operating equipment such as a laboratory cutting mill and shredder.
- Using a variety of hand tools.
- Performing tests, including sieve testing, bulk density, and handheld NIR.
- Recording data and communicating test results.
- Receiving and logging incoming samples.
- Following all EH&S policies and protocols to ensure a safe and environmentally compliant work environment.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience with polymers/plastics is a plus.
- Experience working with LIMS data management software is a plus.
- Proven ability to complete tasks on time in a similar role.
- Excellent organizational, verbal communication, and technical writing skills.
- Detail and quality-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office and other systems used in the analyst role.
- Impeccable personal and professional ethics.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to work closely with a small team in a flexible environment.
Education and Training
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, materials science, or a related field where laboratory experience has been gained would be preferred.

- Work Hours: Generally, 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

- Work environment: Professional office and laboratory (using required PPE)

Physical Demands: Varied between work performed in an office environment and utilizing lab equipment.
- Stand for prolonged periods.
- Sit for prolonged periods.
- Handle tools and equipment with fine motor skills.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Stoop, kneel, bend, push, pull, crawl.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
