Job Description

Summary: An established local Chemical Production facility is seeking an experienced lab technician to join their team. Ideal candidates will possess all or most of the following experience.

Pay Rate Range: Depending on experience: $21.00 - $24.00 hr. with a $3.00 shift differential. (Add $3.00 hr. to this pay rate range for total hourly pay rate potential)

• Obtain samples in the chemical plant and performs routine chemical and physical analysis. These analyses include pH, analytical titrations, specific gravity, viscosity, acid/base number, among others.
• Run lab batches as required with good record keeping so lab data can be transferred to Plant runs.
• Handle Wastewater; pH adjustments with acid or base. Load wastewater on to trailers for shipping.
• Operate, adjust, and maintain scientific instruments and order replacement parts.
• Log and retain samples, note related pertinent information, record results.
• Perform basic calculations to recommend adjustment of the batches in progress; communicate data to supervisory and plant personnel.
• Assure the work quantity and quality by requiring strict adherence to methods and procedures.
• Work safely and independently with PPE, with minimal supervision.
• Log and record various facility data needed for environmental reports.

• Certify incoming raw materials and outgoing production on a timely basis.
• Able to follow ISO9001 procedures and audits areas.
• Work with customers to manufacture lab scale batches for evaluation.
• Have basic knowledge of shipping hazardous material samples.
• Assist production dept. when necessary.

Starting Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, and 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Shifts: Will rotate every 2 weeks (Monday - Friday, with overtime as required)
When plant goes to 3 shifts, hours will be 9:30 pm – 6:00 am with $3/hr. shift differential.
