About the Job
Lab Technicians are responsible for receiving, testing, analyzing, recording, and reporting results of their tests. Their main duties and responsibilities include:
Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures relevant to a particular lab.
Perform all Quality Control procedures, including accumulation and recording of data.
Review, evaluate, and document all corrective action in accordance with established and required policies and procedures.
Collect, prepare, and package specimens for Reference Laboratory vendors adhering to defined guidelines.
Troubleshoot laboratory issues and notify supervisor of potential problems.
Order and keep inventory of supplies needed to process specimen for reference laboratory vendors.
Keep a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in science required
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification with the ASCP (MLT) or ASCPi (MLT) credential; or you are currently certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) with the AMT (MLT) credential
- 1 year minimum related experience, lab technician license
Schedule
- All positions are in hospitals and nursing homes. These facilities are open 24 hours/7 days each week.
- General shift availability:
- Days (7a-3p or 8a-4p)
- Evenings (3p-11p or 4p-12a)
- Nights (11p-7a or 12a-8a)
- Every other weekend is usually required for all positions.
COVID-19 vaccination is required.
