Yaskawa is searching for a Lab Technician in our Medium Voltage Drives Group. The Lab Technician is responsible for executing production testing on all standard and engineered-to-order Medium Voltage Product, following standard test and safety procedures to insure on time delivery . The MV Lab Technician will assist the development group in the qualification-testing phase for new product design. This role will participate in the development and execution of Test Plans and Test Cases for MV Product to validate product functionality, while maintaining product release schedules. The Lab Technician will provide alternative test methods to achieve desired outcome and maintain up to date and accurate test record documentation for all equipment tested and the equipment used in the testing of product.
The ideal candidate will have a Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technician or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience with electrical test equipment and/or electrical assembly. The perfect candidate will have knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives, AC Motor Theory, and PLC systems as well as lab view experience and proficiency with electrical test equipment. We would prefer someone with a working knowledge of electrical codes (e.g. NEC, UL, CSA, TUV, and CE) and how they apply to MV Drive Equipment.
