Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience

OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder is seeking a motivated Lab Manager to join our team. A Lab Manager (LAB) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a laboratory, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. They coordinate the use of lab resources, manage budgets, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Lab Managers supervise and train personnel, enforce safety protocols, and oversee quality assurance processes to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of results. They play a critical role in planning experiments, analyzing data, and supporting research initiatives while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment and contributing to the lab"s overall strategic goals.
REQUIREMENTS
Performs network services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks. Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents. Performs general LAN/CAN/WAN administration. Schedules conversions and cutovers. Coordinates with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidents. Translates business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice, and Video) requirements, designs, and orders. Performs engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives in support of strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancement design for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures. Assists telecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, and telecommunications strategic program management with network interfaces.
Junior
1. Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in Technical Process Amas associated with the ISO/IEC 15288
2. Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of multiple work products in Project and/or Technical Process Areas associated with any of the ISO/IEC 15288 processes.
Mid
3. Assist in performing systems engineering activities in the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas
4. Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
5. Develop and deliver a work product in any of the ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas.
Senior
6. Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow management.
7. Conduct data captures to obtain network performance information.
8. Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools.
9. Provide input to the design of the organization"s network and mission architecture.
10. Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces, and methodologies.
11. Configure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components.
12. Gather needed data to specify system/component performance and interface requirements.
13. Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load balancing, VPN"s, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VoIP), GRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MolP), and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate.
14. Configure and maintain organization"s network diagrams and accreditations.
15. Oversee the support to all network equipment.
16. Develop designs of the organization"s network and mission architecture to meet new partner requirements
17. Manage assigned tasks and provide guidance to junior Network Engineers
18. Integrate hardware and software to satisfy ISO 9000 requirements and other DoD/IC regulations.
19. Resolve complex network problems, operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment and network simulators.
20. Design modules representing traditional circuit switched networks.
21. Lead large efforts and installation projects of dynamic requirements and scale.
22. Develop algorithms for models using networking and/or telecommunications technologies and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Junior-Level
1. Five years" experience as a Lab Manager in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
2. A High School Diploma or GED and four years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area) may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
Mid-Level
3. 10 years" experience as a Lab Manager in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
4. A master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note I) or a related discipline (See Note 2} from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (I) year of systems engineering experience.
5. Note 1 - Examples of Qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management
6. Note 2 - Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics.
Senior-Level
7. 16 years" experience as a Lab Manager in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
8. A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note I) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university may be substituted for three (3) years of systems engineering experience
