Responsibilities of the Coordinator of Laboratory Support Services:
- Responsible for overall planning, quality improvement activities, and daily operations of Laboratory Services.
- Collaborates with others on operational, planning, fiscal, human resources and quality management issues to assure that administrative systems, techniques and procedures are appropriate for services.
- Maintains twenty-four hour accountability for Laboratory Services.
Requirements of the Lab Coordinator - Support Services :
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
- Applicants must have completed (or be eligible for) an appropriate certification examination.
- Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
- Must possess four (4) years prior clinical laboratory experience.
- Possess three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication, mathematical, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of information systems, software applications and telecommunication systems.
- Demonstrate the ability to make decisions, solve problems, and promote laboratory services and organization to physicians and general public.
