Formula Corp. located in Auburn, WA is seeking a full-time entry level, Formulation/Quality/Change Control Technician 50%/25%/25%. We are looking for someone with the desire to learn multiple responsibilities across various roles, helping where and how you can, to ensure things are completed on time. This role does require being onsite 100% of the time with no remote work option possible. However, this role may allow for some flexibility in the days and hours worked, provided Formula Corp.’s unique work schedule.
Formula Corp. is a private label manufacturer of custom blended products used in personal care, sanitary maintenance, and industrial cleaning markets. The Formulation/Quality/Change Control Technician will be a key contributor to the advancement of services to our customers and suppliers. As the Formulation/Quality/Change Control Technician, this role reports directly to the Technical Director, while also supporting the Quality Assurance Department and will split their time 50%/50% between Formulation and Quality.
- Formulation 50%-time: responsibilities include laboratory preparation and testing of new formulations. These formulations include personal care, pet care and cleaning products.
- Quality 25%-time: responsibilities include Quality laboratory testing of manufactured products per written SOPs. This testing includes micro testing, gluten testing on finished products and raw materials, dish washing, sample collection and physical testing to ensure that all products and raw materials meet quality, regulatory and safety standards.
- Change Control 25%-time: responsibilities within the Quality department, include assist with the setup, training, rollout, and maintenance of the program and chosen software.
- Prepare lab batches of formulas provided by Chemists.
- Learn, create, and implement company chosen software for change control.
- Perform formula stability testing.
- Input and maintenance of test records.
- Micro testing of bulk batches and finished goods.
- Gluten testing of finished goods and raw materials.
- Accurately and consistently follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Inspection Procedures, Test Methods, and verbal instructions.
- Maintain accurate written records and sample libraries.
- Place products on hold when deviations are detected.
- Replenish lab supplies when needed.
- Maintain lab cleanliness by washing dishes, countertops, and floors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Strong math, analytical, communication and writing skills.
- Can lift up to 60lbs.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in an ever-changing environment.
- Learn new tasks with ease.
- Able to quickly understand and use software/equipment that you may not have used before.
- High school diploma is required, postsecondary coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or related technical field,
- Two years manufacturing quality, laboratory experience, GMP, food production or equivalent.
- Experience with standard wet lab equipment and methods including pH meters, balances, and powered lab analysis equipment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other software applications.
Full-time entry-level position, $18-24 per hour DOE
