POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs phlebotomy, EKG, point of care of waived testing. Enters and retrieves patient information, demographics and test results. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and education experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. Performs selected skills: including rooming patient, assisting with treatments and procedures.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Phlebotomy certification preferred. Bi-Annual CPR certification.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Knowledge of medical terminology and a variety of laboratory techniques. Ability to establish effective working relationships and clearly communicate with patients, medical staff and the public. Computer experience required.
